About the event

Michael Franklin serves in the roles of Peer Support Specialist, Meditation facilitator, Grief Companion and Death Midwife in service at Journey Home Support Services, a peer-led organization Michael and wife Angela founded in the Illinois Valley of Southern Oregon. Having lived in addiction recovery for the past 20 years, Michael has found his way through the muck and the mire of method after method of "healing" modalities. From talk therapies to meetings, and abject rage displays to silent monkish meditation practices, the act of recovery has been a long, winding and bountiful path for Michael.

Having been familiar with psychedelics as a party drug in his youth, and well aware of the stigmas attached to "a drug is a drug is a drug" cultures of recovery, Michael found his way into ceremonial magic and the gift of ritual. With leadership from seasoned practitioners and carriers of the psychedelic wisdom path, Michael has been able to integrate the multiple levels of conscious recovery by altering the stationary states of consciousness and doing the work of door opening within to access deeper understanding and healing. He will share this experience and perspective tonight and open the forum for discussion.
